My mom had never rented a car before, the customer service at the desk was great however when she got to the car it was covered in snow & when she got the car home & really took a look, inside was filthy. It had not been or even attempted to be cleaned after it's last use. There was a hole in the back seat, what looks like makeup on the ceiling & mirror on the passenger side & just dirty. Thankfully she took pictures so they're date & time stamped definitely will help her to rent from else where in the future.

I have never spent less than 30 minutes in this location. There are even slow, don’t have the cars ready or they simply leave the counter unattended last time they simple left the counter for 30 minutes. With 8 people waiting for a car. You should hire more personnel.

Update: for the third time I received a dirty car from this branch. I got a letter from Avis making a charge for 150 USD for a “cleaning fee” for a car I had already received as dirty as it get.

Gotta call out Austin for being one of the friendliest, helpful and proactive people I've interacted with over the years at any rental agency. Really appreciated the extra help with our rental after a long day of holiday travel full of weather delays--Austin kept the shop open late to accomodate and even made sure we made it out to the right car in the rain. Absolutely horrible experience. I made a reservation ahead of time for pickup on 1.28.25 at 8:30 pm, when I showed up to pickup the car, I was told they only have one car available- Toyota minivan! No other choice, plenty of cars In parking, but I was told that they are all going to Corporate office in Detroit.. the minivan won't start and I had to go back to the front counter for help. this isn't the first time that this happened. They gave me a Toyota Corolla to drive in middle of a snow storm, when I needed an SUV. When I needed a small fuel efficient car, they give me a SUV. Austin seems to give excuses of non availability and gives the car to customers that he wants to give (mostly SUV and large vehicle) instead of asking the customer's choice and comfort. Totally unsatisfactory experience. I will be driving a minivan that I am not very comfortable driving.

Shout out to Wally for having excellent and professional customer service skills and being able to assist me with a rental when another company claimed to have no cars available. I will always ask for Wally as he’s professional and willing to do his best so Avis has satisfied customers.

Dear Avis Customer Service Team,

I’ve been a loyal Avis customer for over 7 years and have never received the level of poor service that I experienced today.

I arrived earlier than expected to pick up my rental at approximately 10:00AM on Tuesday September 1st. I asked the service agent if he could accommodate an early pick up and the service agent rudely informed me that because I arrived earlier than expected it was making his job difficult and he plans his day around when people are “suppose” to arrive and non were available.

Because my family and I were traveling out of town and needed to get on the road I asked the agent if any other SUV’s on the lot were available and he sarcastically responded that all the cars were dirty. I then asked the agent if he could call any other facilities to see if any SUV’s were available and he finally complied and picked up the phone. To my surprise he said my SUV would be available in 15 minutes but the technicians still needed to wash and clean the car and would pull it up to the front of the airport.

After the car was pulled up i got in and drove away which is when I noticed all of the issues identified below.

First off the paperwork on the rental had an odometer mileage of 30006 however the actual odometer read 34066. Which is when I noticed the vehicle engine light was on with the error code “maintenance required visit your dealer”.

Why would Avis allow for a car that needed to be serviced at the dealer be rented out to a customer?

The service agent said that the car was washed and vacuumed but upon receiving the keys to the car it was clearly visible that neither was done.

Unfortunately I was pressed for time and wasn’t able to return the car so I sanitized the high touch areas on the inside and wiped down the side mirrors.

It’s never acceptable to give a customer a dirty vehicle especially given the current pandemic. The inside of the car should have been cleaned, vacuumed and sanitized between rentals which in this case obviously didn’t happen.

In addition

After driving for roughly 30 min the SUV had a fowl rotting garbage smell coming from the vents.
The inside floor was full of sand.
The gear shifter was filled with crumbs and a sticky liquid.
The dashboard odometer was covered in dirt and dust.
The exterior of the vehicle was roughed up

Left/Right rear bumper.

I’m extremely disappointed in Avis and would like a full refund and exchange for the current rental brought to my current location and switched out as soon as possible.

Rented a car for the weekend from 12/20-12/22. A $200.00 hold was put on my card, AVIS is now refusing to release the hold on my card until they are told it’s ok by my credit card bank. Why would they need PERMISSION to release the hold THEY put on my card? I have filed a dispute with my credit card company against AVIS, very poor policy and truly makes no sense.
